Events: COP27

Conference of Parties (COP) is a United Nations Climate Change Conference that brings together world leaders, businesses, and Civil Society Organizations, to discuss climate change issues. This year theCOP27 is being held in Sharm-El- Sheikh in Egypt. About Environmental Conservation & Climate change, the Youth Cafe's work seeks to increase climate change literacy programs, advocate for the creation of green jobs, and creation of a collaborative platform where young people can actively engage and participate in finding solutions to environmental challenges.

In this regard, The Youth Café is currently developing a policy brief on African Youths and Climate change: A policy Brief in light of COP27. In addition, the Youth cafe, in collaboration with Business Fights Poverty, will create podcasts and a collection of videos of youth voices on climate change issues in Africa. Events: Urban Economy Forum

The Youth Café is happy to have participated in the 4th Session of the urban Economy Forum, held both physically and online on 3rd-4th October 2022. The theme of this year’s Urban Economy Forum was Sustainable Urban Finance The Youth Cafe’s Executive director Mr Willice Onyango was a keynote speaker at the event.

In his speech, Mr Willice noted that young people need to be a part of the present and actively plan for the future they want. Participation, capacity building and decision-making in urban development should be returned to the youth with guidance from experienced professionals.
