On the 13th of July 2021, The Executive Director of The Youth Café was invited to speak at the FutureMakers Forum. Hosted by Standard Chartered in partnership with Business Fights Poverty, the Futuremakers Forum brings stakeholders together to build partnerships and create opportunities focused on young people.

The Youth Café is proud to have successfully delivered Financial literacy training to young people through 3 engaging sessions that took place on 15th and 17th July. We were honoured to have Ruth Mbua, who has over 10 years progressive work experience in the banking sector as our guest speaker for the events. Over the course of these sessions, she explored themes related to saving, investments, credit and debt. We look forward to carrying out more sessions in the future!

THR YOUTH CAFE HOSTS SIASA PLACE AND ARTICLE 19

On July 29th, we had a productive discussion with Mugambi Kiai from Article 19 and Nerima Wako from Siasa Place. The objective of this meeting was to promote the presence and role of young people as positive actors of change and to strengthen the role of young people in identifying and speaking up against human rights violations, including discrimination, disinformation and misinformation and hate speech online.
