Are you a young person, ambitious to engage in pro-environmental change but needs to know how, due to the complexity of the climate crisis and the diversity of options? The Youth Cafe is partnering with UN Environment to disseminate Pro-Environmental Youth Engagement Toolkit. This toolkit provides information and guidance on engaging and leading pro-environmental change in four levels: individual, local and national, international, and social-media communication.

In the context of increasing food security, more sustainable and resilient food systems will ensure people have access to safe, nutritious, and healthy food while preserving the environment. At the beginning of October 2022, The Youth Cafe, Foraus and other partners discussed Food Systems Challenges and Policy Solutions in the Eastern African region. This article states the main challenge in the food sector and solution pathways for decision-makers.

The Youth Cafe believes that partnerships based on cooperation between different actors can lead to individual and structural change through networks, coalitions, and alliances. As a result, we work to legitimise diverse youth organisations to advocate for society-wide change, monitor those in power, and promote dialogue for change. All people are holders of human rights and can describe their problems and propose solutions.

When the people most impacted by a challenge become part of solution-building, solutions are more likely to meet urgent needs sustainably. Young people possess the most excellent understanding of their needs. They also possess the creativity and energy to see old problems in new ways. Youth participation in program design and delivery can drive innovation, increase retention of program participants, lead to longer-lasting program outcomes, and positively impact surrounding systems..
