Virtual Reality Storytelling

This project has been set with independent virtual reality makers to create immersive community narratives around the work of The Youth Cafe. We have created Virtual Reality/VR Labs, which bring a dynamic new paradigm for communication and collaboration. We aim to unite multiple sectors rooted in a human-centered approach to communities that are vulnerable to existential crises. The project focuses on two approaches: leveraging VR technology for powerful community digital storytelling, and interactive data visualization aimed at dynamically attracting, engaging, and informing public, private, and personal actors. The second is multi-stakeholder and cross-regional synchronized showcasing of the project’s VR products viewed in labs using a head mounted display with the  ability to transport the viewers to virtually to disenfranchised youth communities. The project utilizes immersive storytelling to inform and engage with the community and tell the story of youth involvement in participatory local democracy in areas such as health, environment, arts and culture, and education.
