The Kenya Youth Manifesto 2022 | Regional Summits.

In conjunction with partners the International Republican Institute and The Youth Café will hold regional consultations seeking grassroots-level input from youth who are not engaged in the political process to ensure that the priority issues are captured comprehensively. The Regional Youth Summits on Magnifying the Visibility of Youth Leaders are unique in-person events designed by young people for young people convened

Broadly, the regional youth summit will seek to enhance the capacity of youth leaders to influence the forthcoming general elections scheduled for August 2022

In pursuit of this goal, the youth summit will seek to achieve the following objectives are to build the capacity of young Kenyan leaders on the public policy-making process, existing policy documents, human-centered design approaches, problem and solution statements, community engagement, effective networking, and advocacy, youth-led climate change action and solutions, and gender-responsive policy-making.

The summit also objectifies to profile lessons from the development and actualization of the Kenya Youth Manifesto 2017, specifically successes, challenges, and areas of improvement; and to identify themes relating to the challenges of Kenyan youth and potential solutions to these needs through a human-centered design for integration into the Kenya Youth Manifesto 2022

The consultations seek to have Kenyan youth included in meaningful engagement in national leadership and economic development while advocating for creating opportunities for the disadvantaged and marginalized groups, particularly young people, to avoid conflict and violence in the future and build inclusive societies

The manifesto articulates young people’s issues of concern. Further, it takes a precedent role in securing sustainable long-term solutions by strengthening democratic participation and citizen engagement, participating in democracy efforts, registering to vote, participating in political party leadership, and vying for elected office

The Youth Café promotes youth participation in human rights, governance, entrepreneurship, environmental preservation, and building peace and cohesion.

The Youth Café works with young men and women around Africa as a trailblazer in advancing youth-led approaches toward achieving sustainable development, social equity, innovative solutions, community resilience, and transformative change.
