National Dialogue on Health Financing Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Consultation

Health is one of our key focus areas at the Youth Cafe. We joined other member organizations and individuals for the National Dialogue on Health Financing – Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Consultation which commenced on the 26th and ended on the 27th of April 2023 held at the Mercure Hotel.
The National dialogue was organized by HENNET in partnership with KANCO, NEPHAK, Stop TB Partnership Kenya, and WACI Health with support from the Global Fund providing an opportunity for civil society to assess and review the health financing strategies in the Kenya Health Financing Strategy, jointly assess progress, identify challenges, and build consensus on health financing reform priorities or actions that are technically viable, politically feasible and will accelerate progress towards sustainable and effective domestic financing for health in Kenya.

The group and panel discussions, led by the CSOs focused on developing a position paper on the specific action plans and timelines for health financing reform priorities and discussing the M&E mechanisms for implementation.
A presentation of the draft position paper was presented and a technical group was appointed to work on and in the paper. This was in preparation for the ALM dialogue that will be happening on 27th-29th June 2023 at safari park hotel.
