Corporate Governance

We believe in the importance of The Youth Cafe’s board development is critical to its success. We have grown past the initial founding board stage to a more structured governing board stage with systems and structures in place. This is crucial on a pathway to ownership of strategic and governance roles by the board. Our board of directors serves as strategic thought partners and active fiduciary stewards of The Youth Cafe’s resources.

In addition to its strategic role, The Youth Cafe’s oversight of its activities ensures its sustainability and impact. It provides a transparent, integrated management system for all its initiatives, assuring their good governance and maximizing their operational capabilities and performance. It oversees all finances, guaranteeing their probity, and has a comprehensive system of managerial checks and balances in which there is mutual representation between the partner entities’ and The Youth Cafe’s board to ensure accountability. The Youth Cafe is governed by a Executive Board and is managed by an Advisory Board on which all committees are represented

EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Executive Board is responsible for the stewardship of the organization. This requires the Executive Board to oversee the conduct of business and affairs of The Youth Cafe Company. According to The Youth Cafe’s Board Charter, the Executive Board discharges some of its responsibilities directly and others through committees of the Board mainly consisting of the members of the Advisory Board based on their expertise. The Executive Board is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Company’s business through a director nominated from among the directors. He/She assumes the title of Executive Director. The Executive Board is responsible for supervising management in carrying out this responsibility.
