We are delighted to announce that our Executive Director, Willice Okoth Onyango, will be among the distinguished speakers at the upcoming virtual side event titled “Turning Global Commitments into Local Impact: Financing for a Just and Inclusive Transition”, taking place on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. (East Africa Time).

This high-level dialogue is organized by the NGO Committee on Financing for Development (FfD), a substantive committee of the Conference of NGOs (CoNGO), and will be held as a side event to the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2).

🎯 Event Overview

The session seeks to translate global financing commitments into tangible local action—bridging the gap between policy and people by aligning financial systems with inclusive, sustainable, and climate-resilient development.
Speakers will explore practical pathways to just transitions, focusing on decent work, green jobs, digital inclusion, and social protection for vulnerable populations, especially youth and women.

🗣 Willice Onyango’s Contribution

As Executive Director of the African Youth Café, Willice Onyango will contribute his expertise on youth empowerment, digital skills development, and green entrepreneurship.
He will highlight the challenges faced by young people in the informal economy and share proven approaches to help them access the skills, financing, and networks they need to thrive.
Willice will also address how youth-led initiatives in Africa are shaping inclusive and climate-smart enterprises that align with global sustainability goals.
