Our mission: We transform education to employment systems to prepare, place and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Employers face a range of problems in entry level jobs—difficulty finding skilled talent, lackluster on-the-job performance, and high turnover in important roles. We can help address all of these challenges with our unique approach to training and our determined young graduates.

The Youth Cafe Career Transition Program in Numbers

The Youth Cafe Career Development Program works to bridge the gap between young people and the labour market. We work with both informal and formal sectors to raise the quantity and quality of career opportunities.

Our two-pronged trainings

Formal Sector Skills Training

The program is designed for the youth, aged between 18yrs to 29yrs. It seeks to offer a comprehensive training to prepare the youth for the opportunities and challenges during the transition. Furthermore, it builds their confidence and skills to be more adaptable and competitive in the labor market. Additionally, the program seeks to identify transferable skills that can be nurtured in order to increase the job readiness. The program also strives to equip the participants with better understanding of the available job opportunities, while helping in tailoring the applications based on individual skills and experience. With the support of our experienced and qualified facilitators, the participants are guided with focus on their current education, career aspirations and transition options in exploratory and educational training and workshops.Furthermore, The Youth Cafe connects students with companies through job fairs and meetings to facilitate a student's transition into the workforce

In The Words Of Our Partners And Beneficiaries

The Youth Cafe courses have a profound impact on our students. Not only do we receive endless positive feedback about the instructors, content, and activities, but our students leave their professional development classes as both strong and confident individuals and more effective employees. The Youth Cafe team is a joy to work with, they listen and understand our student and organisational needs, and always produce high-quality learning experiences in a timely manner.

I’ve seen The Youth Cafe “in action”, when they delivered some sessions in The Nairobi Garage on entrepreneurship and life skills. Usually, training are just PowerPoint slides and trainers talking. The Youth Cafe is so different, so interactive. They have a very special way of information exchange between trainer and trainee on equal level. It really empowers to learn, and helps people naturally pick out knowledge they want.

From the first glance, The Youth Cafe did not seem like the ideal opportunity for me. I wondered what it really was about and how the experience would impact my life. Yet still, I was encouraged to sign up and it has been an experience to tell. Becoming workplace ready was what I needed. The training has boosted my confidence and set me above the rest in terms of the skills acquired. I am now ready to step out with my head held high. The Youth Cafe offers the best transition point and space to grow.
