Application Process

The Youth Cafe application process is designed for you to showcase your experience and skills. You must apply online to be considered for a position, and you can use your LinkedIn profile or resume/CV to preload your online application. We recommend that you tailor your experiences and skills to the job description to ensure you stand out. It is the way you tell your story online that makes all the difference.

If you know someone who works at The Youth Cafe, tap into their knowledge to learn more about our culture and whether you’d be a good fit. Give The Youth Cafe staff the job title or number, and they can refer you to our system. Once you are referred, the system will send you a link to apply for that job online.  Our jobs are updated regularly, so we recommend signing up for our Newsletter Community. This will also allow you to sign up for Job Alerts. After signing up, we’ll email you relevant jobs as they are posted for your areas of expertise. Below are tips for CV and Resume writing from our career development partners at Indeed.

Interview

If your application stands out, you’ll receive a call from one of our talented recruiters to speak with you about your skills and experiences. They’ll give you more information about the job and the team hiring for that position. After your call, you may be invited for an interview.

Our interview process can take place onsite or virtually and, in most cases, you’ll meet with a panel of individuals who understand the needs of the role and what it takes to be successful at The Youth Cafe. This panel will consist of a diverse selection of staff, including the hiring manager and members of the team. We encourage candidates to come with an understanding of our organisation, mission and vision, and ask questions during the process to ensure you’re being set up for success. We have included common questions, answers and advice to help you prepare from our partner at Indeed.

After accepting your offer, a background check and drug screening may also be required depending on your country. Once these have cleared, you’ll receive a start date, and we’ll welcome you in person to The Youth Cafe on your first day.
