Position Title: Project Manager
Projects:
EcoPeace Spaces: Youth Leading Resilience in Central Africa (Lot 2)
Youth Futures In Action: Green Jobs and Digital Futures in East & Southern Africa (Lot 3)
Duration: 30 months (aligned with project timelines)
Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya (with travel to project sites in Central, East & Southern Africa)
Reports To: Consortium Coordinator (The Youth Café)
Collaborates With: Finance & Administrative Officer, Partner CSOs, Donor Representatives
1. Background
The AEYA projects aim to empower youth across Sub‑Saharan Africa by strengthening CSOs, creating inclusive hybrid “Spaces for Youth,” and equipping young people with leadership, peacebuilding, climate resilience, green jobs, and digital futures skills. The Project Manager ensures effective coordination, compliance, and partner support, while leading monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems across consortium partners.
2. Purpose of the Assignment
To provide strategic leadership in coordinating project implementation, ensure donor compliance, and lead monitoring and evaluation systems that generate actionable insights for adaptive management and reporting.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Coordination & Leadership
Coordinate day‑to‑day project implementation across partner countries.
Ensure donor compliance, timely delivery of outputs, and alignment with AEYA objectives.
Support partners in proposal design, review, and sub‑granting processes.
B. Proposal Review
Review sub‑granting and subcontracting proposals to ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with project objectives.
C. Monitoring & Evaluation
Develop and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
Lead baseline, midline, and endline assessments.
Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and final M&E reports.
D. Reporting & Compliance
Prepare donor‑compliant narrative reports integrating M&E findings.
Ensure consistency and accuracy of data presented in reports and presentations.
Support adaptive management through evidence‑based recommendations.
E. Partnership & Networking
Facilitate collaboration between African CSOs and European institutions.
Represent the consortium in EU–Africa policy dialogues and stakeholder forums.
4. Deliverables
Regional coordination plan and M&E framework.
Quarterly narrative and M&E reports.
Reviewed and approved sub‑granting proposals.
Baseline, midline, and endline reports.
Final project report and lessons learned documentation.
5. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience coordinating donor‑funded projects.
Proven experience in writing EU‑funded proposals and donor reports.
Experience reviewing proposals for sub‑granting or subcontracting.
Strong monitoring and evaluation expertise, including survey design and data analysis.
Familiarity with EU compliance frameworks and reporting standards.
Excellent facilitation, reporting and partnership skills.
