The Youth Cafe was part of the Government’s roll out the Kenya Youth Development Policy (KYDP) (2018) at the Intercontinental Hotel,Nairobi on February, 13.The Policy aims to demonstrate the country’s commitment in spearheading multi- dimensional approaches and initiatives to address the challenges currently facing our youth, while optimizing the several strengths and opportunities that the youth present.

Addressing European Eunion on Africa-Europe Economic Relations.

In January, Willice Onyango, the Executive Director of The Youth Cafe was invited to speak to a European Union audience of over 2,000 pro-EU delagates attending the inaugral #PiuEuropa Congress in the historic city of Milano. He spoke on viable options for strengthening EU-Africa economic cooperation that could specifically create opportunities for young people in order to avert the pitfalls of the recent waves of African youth migration to Europe.

The Youth Cafe was represented at the Sustainable Blue Economy Conference by two staff.We believe the youth possess the energy, knowledge and talents that can be harnessed to drive the growth of sustainable blue economy. Their inclusion in the relevant processes that create full employment and decent work for all is even more critical especially in turning the potential youth bulge into youth dividend.
