Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA)
The Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) is one of the flagships of the Youth Action Plan (YAP) in European Union external action and part of the Global Gateway Africa-Europe Investment Package under the “Youth Mobility for Africa Flagship”. Expertise France is lead of the project and operates in consortium with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). AEYA is a four‑year programme (2025–2029) with a total budget of €15 million, implemented across 20 Sub‑Saharan African countries.
The AEYA programme aims to strengthen the role of young people as change agents and leaders of sustainable development, while reinforcing the links between Africa and Europe. The primary targets are young people between the ages of 18 and 30, with a particular focus on young women and youth in situations of vulnerability.
The current Call for Projects falls under Work Package 1 – Unlock Potential, focusing on “Spaces for Youth” in 18 countries. The Youth Café has been selected as the Implementing partner and will be implementing in 11 countries: Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
Applications must be submitted by 06 August 2026 (11:59 PM GMT+3), with an information session scheduled for 20 July 2026. Proposals may be submitted in English or French.
