Overview
As part of the “Migration and Mobility Dialogue (MMD III)” programme, funded by the European Union and ICMPD, The Youth Cafe is seeking one NGO in Uganda to:
Participate in a capacity-building programme on social media campaigning,
Design and implement a context-specific social media campaign on irregular migration,
Receive ongoing support and coaching throughout the campaign lifecycle.
Selected organisations will become “Neighbour Partners” in this initiative aimed at addressing the risks of irregular migration through evidence-based, locally led communication.
Objectives
This initiative aims to:
Empower local NGOs to implement effective, responsible, and engaging social media campaigns.
Increase digital outreach capacity around migration risks, myths, and alternatives.
Support youth and vulnerable communities in making informed migration decisions.
Scope of Work
The selected NGO will:
Attend online training on strategic communication, digital campaigning, and ethical engagement (with modules on child protection and monitoring & evaluation).
Develop and run a localised social media campaign (with reach targets and engagement indicators).
Submit periodic updates and a final report including campaign results and lessons learned.
You will be supported by a dedicated Point of Contact (PoC) from one of the consortium members and by the consortium lead Seefar, who will approve campaign content before launch and provide technical monitoring tools.
Training & Capacity Building
Each selected NGO will participate in:
Practical training sessions on:
Strategic communications planning
Audience targeting and content development
Types of digital campaigns, including A/B testing, Dynamic ads and Lead generation campaigns
Social media metrics and monitoring
Safeguarding and responsible storytelling
Ongoing mentorship during campaign development and roll-out.
Reporting Requirements
You will be expected to:
Collect and share engagement metrics (reach, likes, shares, click-throughs, etc.).
Conduct light-touch monitoring using provided templates.
Submit a final report including:
Overview of campaign activities
Key results and insights
At least one case study or impact story
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be a registered NGO based in Uganda
Demonstrate experience in social media campaigning, youth engagement and migration-related communications.
Have infrastructure and staff capacity to design and deliver digital content.
Commit two to four of your staff attending training and reporting as required.
Budget & Duration
The selected NGO will receive a subcontract worth 5000 EUR in line with EU and ICMPD guidelines.
The campaign will run between October 2025 until March 2026, with training on 23 and 24 September 2025.
