In the context of significant global economic and health challenges, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening and institutionalising social participation must be a priority to advance health and well-being. Social participation – defined as empowering people, communities, and civil society through inclusive participation in decision-making processes that affect health across the policy cycle and at all levels of the system is a crucial element of good governance for health. The policy cycle involves situational analysis, priority setting, planning, budget, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review, which occur at community, district, regional and national levels.
The youths attending the Second High-Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) are coming together and rallying for inclusive development that works for us and with us. This statement is a reflection of youth’s eagerness and strong intent to be involved and actively participate as equal and independent partners in practical development cooperation – a discourse and a process that does not only shape our societies comprehensively today but our future and those of the coming generations ahead.
The Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health 2016-30 highlights the importance of adolescent health and well-being as being essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030. For adolescents to survive, thrive, and transform their societies, the global community needs to invest in their health and well-being. Today’s adolescents are well-positioned to mobilize their peers, advocate for increased resources for sexual and reproductive health and rights, influence their governments to invest in addressing their needs, and demand accountability for commitments related to their health and development.

The values of diversity and inclusion are no longer just buzzwords for policy-makers, the public service, and other governmental or non-governmental institutions. When these organizations truly embody such values, it not only ensures representation of the society they serve and limits groupthink but also fosters public trust, equity, accessibility, transparency, and impartiality.

His Azimio agenda plans to train youths from all backgrounds in economics, engineering, science, or other fields of their choosing so they can take on important leadership roles in society when they grow up.
World Malaria Day (WMD) is an international observance commemorated every year on the 25th of April. It is a day set aside to recognize the global efforts in combating Malaria. WMD, first observed in 2008, evolved out of Africa Malaria Day, which had been observed annually since 2001, when African Leaders meeting under the auspices of the African Union signed the Abuja Declaration, committing to step-up efforts in fighting and eradicating Malaria in Africa. The theme for World Malaria Day 2022 is to harness innovation to reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives.
The 7th EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF22) took place online from 14th to 18th February 2022 and in a hybrid format on the 16th and 17th of February 2022, at The Square, in Brussels (Belgium). The Forum was jointly promoted and sponsored by the European Commission and the African Union Commission and organized in partnership with the Pan-African business organizations Africa Business Council, Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AfroChampions, Business Africa, and the PanEuropean business organizations Business Europe, European Business Council for Africa and the Mediterranean, Eurochambres and European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME.
The African government's economic crisis over the Covid-19 Pandemic equals (1 to 7)% of their GDP, contributed by African Governments deploying fewer funds and measures for high-quality recovery. At The Youth Café, we believe that there is a need for financial education. This will increase unlocking finance to build forward better from COVID-19 and accelerate delivery on Sustainable Development as intended: To identify effective measures to address the overarching challenge of mobilizing adequate and sustainable finance to invest in sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. To identify and articulate the financing needs and provide high-level insights on opportunities to mobilize finance, focusing on the role of the Liquidity and Sustainability Facility designed and launched by ECA and partners.
