About The Project

The Safe-Mit Project seeks to strengthen teacher capacity through the provision of quality training materials. As part of this initiative, The Youth Cafe requires the production of professionally printed Teachers Handbooks that will be used during project implementation activities in Kiambu County.

The Youth Cafe was established in September 2012 following the United Nations High-Level Panel outreach consultations on the Post-2015 Development Agenda. The organization works to advance youth participation and sustainable development through innovative programs, research, partnerships, and leadership development initiatives.

Scope of Work

The selected vendor will be responsible for printing and delivering Teachers Handbooks according to the specifications outlined below:

Product Specifications

  • Product: Teachers Handbook

  • Format: A4 Size

  • Quantity: 252 Copies

  • Length: 62 Pages

  • Printing: Full-color interior and cover

  • Interior Material: Premium thin paper stock

  • Cover Material: Durable semi-rigid cardstock

  • Binding: Perfect binding

  • Production Standard: Paper grain orientation must run parallel to the spine to ensure durability and prevent binding damage during frequent use.

Delivery Requirements

The successful vendor will be required to:

  • Complete production within the specified project timeline.

  • Ensure secure packaging and transportation of all printed materials.

  • Deliver all handbooks to The Youth Cafe Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

  • Maintain high-quality printing and finishing standards throughout production.

Evaluation Criteria

Quotations will be assessed based on:

  • Compliance with the technical specifications and scope of work.

  • Quality of printing and production standards.

  • Competitive pricing.

  • Ability to deliver within the required timeline.

  • Demonstrated experience and past performance in similar assignments.

Evaluation will be conducted using a technical capability assessment combined with price competitiveness considerations.

Important Information

  • Late submissions will not be considered.

  • Quotations must remain valid for a minimum of thirty (30) days.

  • Payment will be made within 30 days of successful delivery and receipt of a valid invoice, subject to applicable tax deductions in accordance with Kenyan law.

  • The Youth Cafe reserves the right to purchase all, part, or none of the requested services and may adjust quantities as necessary.

  • Costs incurred in preparing and submitting quotations will not be reimbursed by The Youth Cafe.

Qualified printing firms with proven experience in producing high-quality educational and training materials are encouraged to submit their quotations.
