For a long time, the Devolution Conference has been perceived as a forum dominated by the ‘big wigs.’ This year, however, things felt different. The Youth Cafe (TYC) introduced something fresh, the Youth Pavilion, a designated space that gave young people their own platform at one of Kenya’s biggest national forums. It was more than just a physical space; it was a hub of energy, conversations, and opportunities.

Building on this momentum and the upcoming International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) on December 9, themed “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity”, UNODC’s Africa Anti-corruption Hub, The Youth Cafe, in collaboration with the National Youth Council of Kenya (NYC), is planning a forum for young people in Kenya to educate them on key anti-corruption priorities and accountability actions, share experience and propose innovative solutions to promote transparency and accountability of government institutions in Kenya.
The People Dialogue Festival 2024 Day 4 Communique | Competition and Collaboration in Democratic Development
The 6th edition of the People Dialogue Festival (PDF) comes to dramatic and memorable close today, leaving in its wake powerful, purposeful and sometimes controversial but respectful discussions across the six villages over the last four days. The festival brought together an estimated 2,000 participants per day, over 60 exhibitors including political parties, NGOs, social enterprises and donors. Others included senior government representatives from the three arms of government (Judiciary, Executive and Parliament), development partners, embassies and foreign missions, 15 high schools from both Nairobi and Kiambu. Over the last four days more than 50 sessions and panels discussing diverse themes contributed to the PDF2024 theme of “Competition and Collaboration in Democratic Development.”
