We call for the implementation of international standards for meaningful youth engagement, including those outlined in the Secretary-General’s Policy Brief. Implement, in the strongest terms possible, all recommendations from all related resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and other bodies such as but not limited to the General Assembly and the Human Rights Council, including the Youth2030 Strategy.

The Youth Café is featured on both these articles for the projects we work in under our eight priority areas featured in our Theory of Change, in this case, mainly Governance and Political inclusion-Accountability & Remittances and Business, job Creation and Entrepreneurship.’ , as well as the ways in which we empower the youths in Africa.

Young women are at the intersection of these two agendas and should therefore be actively engaged in the conversations surrounding peace-building, peace-negotiations, and peace-keeping. It is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the role of young people in furthering gender activism. Young women have particularly been previously excluded as ‘youth’ has been translated as ‘young men’ in the context of war, conflicts, and peace-building.
