Held under the unifying theme “Enabling That Step Forward,” the Fair brought together cutting-edge research, policy leadership, and market-ready innovation across Africa, Europe, and the Mediterranean.

The inaugural Africa–Europe Innovation Platform (AEIP) Stakeholders Meeting, held on October 22, 2025, in Brussels, marked a major milestone in strengthening cross-continental collaboration for innovation. As an active member of the AEIP consortium, The Youth Café played a strategic role, championing youth priorities, elevating voices often sidelined in high-level discussions, and reaffirming the critical role of young people in shaping resilient and inclusive innovation ecosystems.
Africa’s Innovation Future: AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2025 Comes To Nairobi
The stage is set for one of Africa’s most influential innovation events, the AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2025, taking place from October 13–15, 2025 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), Gigiri.

Digital Media Literacy Focus Group Discussions
Collecting in-depth qualitative data to get insightful perspectives and understanding digital media literacy in Kenya. Media literacy is a tool to prepare future generations to combat the rising tide of information warfare. A thorough fact-checking process that delineates disinformation, misinformation and teaches to differentiate between clickbait, satire, pseudoscience, conspiracy theories, and other content on the internet is necessary.
Youth Excel Releases Global Gender and Inclusion Analysis
Youth Excel aims to advance gender equality by using research, learning, and data to change systems and transform norms, shifting power differentials so that diverse youth—including youth of all genders in different age categories—influence development agendas and development decision making. In late 2020, we conducted a Global GESI Analysis through desk research to (1) compile data and identify broad trends in line with Youth Excel’s work; (2) provide recommendations for Youth Excel activities.
