The Youth Cafe has become member of the Global Waste Cleaning Network o for 36 months running from 01 August 2022 till 30 September 2025. The Global Waste Cleaning Network (GWCN) plays a vital role in the growing worldwide movement to reduce the impact of Environmental pollution on the society via advocacy and the implementation of evidence-based programs to reduce pollution in Oceans, Coastlines, Lands, and the Atmosphere. The purpose of the Global Waste Cleaning Network is to support environmental activities, showcase, connect and train the network members, contribute to ecological debates, foster environmental research, and spread environment-related information.

The Youth Cafe is excited to become a member of the Trust Law. TrustLaw is the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s global pro bono service that links high-impact NGOs and social enterprises with the best law firms worldwide. Trust law offers free services for NGOs/social enterprises. They connect NGOs/social enterprises to lawyers in over 175 countries worldwide. TrustLaw works with high-impact organizations requiring pro bono legal assistance.

Our MOU With GiveDirectly For COVID-19 Unconditional Cash Transfer Program For Youth

The Youth Café recently made and entered into a Memorandum of Understanding agreement with GiveDirectly Inc., thereby forming a partnership between the two organizations. The purpose of this partnership is to contribute to enhanced economic empowerment within identified locations of Nairobi and ultimate eradication of poverty which in turn will positively impact the lives of the beneficiaries and communities. This program focuses on the disbursement of emergency grants (cash grants) by GiveDirectly to people mainly living in informal settlements in Kenya in which The Youth Café currently works. As a result of this partnership, thousands of youths have been able to benefit from this program where they each received a disbursement of $30 for 4 months.

How We Plan To Tackle Mental Health Among Youth Using Surf Therapy | The Youth Cafe

Young people who are constantly exposed to stress and trauma are more at risk to physical illness and diseases, poor cognition and emotional and behavioural regulations. They are more likely to make life choices that are unhealthy for themselves and for those around them. To tackle those outcomes of stress we’re planning to set up a surf therapy along the Kenyan coast.
