As the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank hold their annual meetings this October, communities across the Global South continue to bear the weight of an economic system designed to keep them in crisis. From deepening debt to climate disasters, the people who did the least to cause the world’s problems are paying the highest price.
That’s why this Global Week of Action (October 13–18), under the banner Stop the Harm! Cancel the Debt! Reparations and Just Transition Now!, movements across the world are rising to demand an end to an unjust system — one that prioritizes profit over people and the planet.

Global Youth Policy Paper On the Summit of Future | Youth Policy Priorities - A Pact for OUR Future
The Global Youth Policy Paper sets out young people’s expectations and desired priorities for the Summit of Future (SOTF). From October 2022 onwards, youth organizations and constituencies have undertaken a range of youth-led consultative activities to capture the views, perspectives, and opinions of youth groups in what is their vision for the Pact for the Future.
Call To Action To Civil Society | The Future Of The Summit For Democracy Needs Youth
Democracy organizations co-leads of the Youth Democracy cohort (International IDEA, the European Partnership for Democracy, the European Democracy Youth Network and AfricTivistes) call on civil society organisations and other stakeholders around the world to promote youth political participation as a bedrock of the Summit for Democracy process for the future.
The call comes in the context of the second Summit for Democracy which takes place in Washington, Seoul, San Jose, The Hague, and Lusaka on the 29th and 30th of March 2023 at which countries will discuss the most pressing challenges facing democracy. The Summit for Democracy will mobilize leadership and commitments to expand support to democracy globally.
