On 30th September 2021 The Youth Café conducted the physical video/photo award ceremony at their offices at Kitisuru Gardens to officially present the winners with their awards. The event was broadcasted live on our Facebook page. Several key players attended including the 3 finalists, members of The Youth Cafe, invited guests Amos Onyango and Nerima Wako-Ojiwa and our keynote speaker, Mr Samuel Kimeu, the Executive Director of Africa’s Voices Foundation.
The Youth Café conducted a virtual video/photo award ceremony on the 23rd of September 2021. The theme of the project was to “capture your reality of corruption and governance”. Several key players attended including our participants, members of The Youth Café, members of the public and our keynote speaker, Mr. Samuel Kimeu, the Executive Director of Africa’s Voices Foundation.
The Agenda 2063 youth dialogue incorporated different Non-Governmental Organizations that presented the work that they do and their recommendations as to what they believe can be done to advance the needs of African youth. There is a desire for increased collaboration and support between partners and donors, and possibly good opportunities for improving support for digital rights work. The Youth Café was invited by The Kenya ICT Action Network to take part in a partners and donors roundtable during the Kenya Internet Governance Forum (KIGF) 2021 week. The objective of the roundtable was to bring together Donors and Social Justice Organisations to create awareness and appraise each other on the situation of digital rights in Africa.
The Youth Café is excited to announce that we will be speaking at The 2063 Academy Youth Dialogue. In collaboration with NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency, i4Policy, Facebook and Maghreb Economic Forum, the 3rd edition of the 2063 Academy will take place from 13 to 17 September 2021.

Stand a chance to win $15,000!! The International Trade Center with the support of The Youth Café have partnered to promote the Youth Ecopreneur Awards. The Youth Ecopreneur Awards are the first of their kind which aim to promote youth entrepreneurship in the green economy. The award is calling upon young ecopreneurs with innovative solutions in three categories; Renewable energy and energy efficiency, Sustainable waste management and Efficient use of water.
On the 22nd of July 2021, the European Union held a consultation session with Kenyan youth representative organizations, with The Youth Café as a participant. Through the participation of this survey, the EU stated that participation in this survey can assist in the elaboration of their strategy in supporting Kenyan youth.
The Youth Café is honored to have been invited in its capacity as a youth-led and youth serving organization to be a panelist on the Peace and Cohesion break away session for the 7th Annual Devolution Conference with a specific theme of Prevention and Management of Climate Change Instigated Conflicts: Collaborative Responses. We look forward to attending the conference when the date is set!
In 2021, The Youth Café is prioritizing inclusive development to make sure that more young people benefit from economic growth and development. We aim to reduce poverty and inequality, in both income and non-income dimensions. In line with this vision, The Youth Café is piloting a Financial Literacy Intervention Program for youth.
International Youth Day takes place annually on the 12th of August. This year’s theme is focused on “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”. Though, the success of this effort on a global scale can only be achieved through the participation of youth. There are always discussions about the need for inclusive support mechanisms that will help ensure that youth will keep amplifying the need to collectively protect life on earth. Through initiatives like this, The Youth Café is at the forefront of guiding youth to become more involved with creating a society that advocates for food sustainability, and human as well as planetary health.
