The 7th AU–EU Summit brought together Heads of State and Government from both Unions on 24 - 25 November 2025 in Luanda to celebrate 25 years of partnership and to reaffirm their shared vision for peace, prosperity, sustainable development, and strengthened multilateralism.
We recall the 6th EU-AU Summit held in Brussels on 17-18 February 2022, as well as the 3 rd EU-AU Ministerial Meeting, held in Brussels on 21 May 2025.
Two global consortiums have been selected to drive civil society engagement and youth leadership in advancing health systems under the GFF x CIVIC Platform. Their work will strengthen community influence, promote domestic resource mobilization, and integrate community-led solutions into national systems to improve outcomes for women, children, and adolescents.
At a time of crisis for international development cooperation, ideas for resetting the system are not lacking. In the face of dwindling resources and increasing demands, and in an increasingly complex landscape, many experts, in both the Global South and the Global North, are advancing efforts to reshape a narrative for international development cooperation, rebuild trust, revitalise the effectiveness agenda, and rethink criteria that guide access to increasingly scarce resources
We, children and youth from across the globe, present this declaration to UNEA Member States, UNEP and all stakeholders as a collective call for urgent, ambitious, and inclusive environmental action. We bring forward this Declaration at a time of profound global uncertainty, geopolitical realignment, and a deepening crisis of international cooperation.
This declaration was drafted following inputs from the EU-AU Civil Society and Youth Forum which took place online on 23 October and 13 November and on 20 and 21 November 2025. This Forum brought together a diverse representation of CSO-Youth organisations from Africa and Europe, from various sectors and geographies, to discuss and make recommendations on the AU-EU Summit, taking place on 24 and 25 May 2025.
We, representatives of over 200 youth and civil society organisations from across Africa and Europe, convened from 20–21 November 2025 in Luanda, Angola, on the margins of the 7th AU–EU Heads of State and Government Summit to deliberate on the pillars of the Africa–Europe partnership: Peace, Security and Governance; Prosperity; People; and Multilateralism. Recognising the important role of civil society and youth and adopting a people-centred and human-rights based approach to development, we reaffirm the critical contribution of youth and civil society in guaranteeing peace and prosperity on our continents and globally.
The Second World Summit for Social Development took place in Doha, Qatar, from 4 to 6 November 2025, bringing together Heads of State and Government, ministers, senior delegates and non-governmental stakeholders from around the globe. The Summit will provide a unique opportunity to assess progress, address gaps, and renew global commitments to the three interrelated pillars of social development first adopted thirty years ago in the 1995 Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action: poverty eradication, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and social integration.

The Youth Café, a core member of the Africa–Europe Innovation Platform (AEIP) Consortium, took centre stage at the highly anticipated Africa–Europe Innovation Fair 2025, a flagship event organised by the European Commission in partnership with the African Union (AU) and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). Held under the unifying theme “Enabling That Step Forward,” the Fair brought together cutting-edge research, policy leadership, and market-ready innovation across Africa, Europe, and the Mediterranean.
