On 12th May 2026, representatives of African nations and the French Republic convened in Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa Forward Summit under the theme “Africa-France Partnership for Growth and Innovation.” The summit reaffirmed a shared commitment to sustainable development, inclusive growth, resilient economies, and a rules-based international order grounded in the principles of the United Nations Charter. Participants acknowledged Africa’s immense potential as a driver of global growth, innovation, and prosperity, while emphasizing partnerships based on mutual respect, shared responsibility, and co-development.

The Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) is a project financed by the European Commission as part of the Global Gateway Africa-Europe Investment Package under the ‘Youth Mobility for Africa Flagship’, whose objective is to create mobility and skills development opportunities for the youth, while building bridges between Africa and Europe. Expertise France implements the AEYA project in consotium with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have played a pivotal role in the Eastern Africa Anti-Corruption Platform since its inception in February 2017 at the regional convening on fast-racking the implementation of the UNCAC, organised in collaboration with the Eastern Africa Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (EAAACA). CSOs remain steadfast in their commitment to supporting the fast-tracking of the UNCAC in the region.
